Steam Crumbling Under the Weight of Sales

Like many others, I have been having a hell of a time buying games from Steam this holiday. It seems the excessive transactions are causing many people to receive declined purchases through both Credit Card and PayPal. The root of the problem is yet to be discovered, whether it's overload or simply the card you choose to use for transactions. Some have been having success by creating a second account and using it to "gift" the purchase to themselves, while others maintain there is no issue whatsoever. Valve/Steam at this moment has not addressed or even acknowledged the problem publicly, though some users contest that they have received apologies for the inconvenience.

The juggernaut that is Steam cannot keep up with the demands of the PC Game buyers that console owners/developers insist do not exist. Either the Steam network is incredibly frail or those pundits are simply wrong.
